* The contraindications for a relaxing massage

Before any treatment and massage, we take stock of your current and past health. Old wounds, could resurface if I don't know.
This is why I am counting on you to notify me of any health problem when making the appointment or at the start of the session. Thus, we can make sure that you do not have major contraindications requiring the authorization of a doctor. In the event of a minor contraindication, I adapt to your situation.

Relaxation and well-being massages, given their non-therapeutic aim, are contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Fever: in case of fever, bacterial or viral infection (cold, flu and others…).

  • Injury or disease: recent wounds or scars, skin infection (contagious or not), fibroma or tumor, acute back pain, acute inflammatory diseases, ligament and muscle injuries, nausea or abdominal pain, it is strongly not recommended to receive a wellness massage. Do not hesitate to seek medical advice.

  • Circulatory disorders (varicose veins, thrombosis, phlebitis, hematoma): No tonic pressure massage on the legs. Likewise, hot stone massage should be avoided in order to avoid any discomfort and swelling.

  • Cardiac disorders: Overly toned massages, hot stones as well as the use of tonic essential oils are strongly discouraged. I will direct you to a relaxing massage instead. Do not hesitate to seek medical advice.

  • Recent fractures and injuries, recent surgery: no no no! No wellness massage. We are patient and we wait at least three months.

  • Arthritis, osteoporosis: no deep massage.

  • Hemophilia, diabetes, cancer, AIDS, epilepsy: only with the official consent of the attending physician. Only he will be able to assess the benefit / risk of a wellness massage. Often, only the massage of the extremities (hands and feet) will be authorized, without essential oils.

  • Pregnancy: whether you choose a massage at home or elsewhere, a formal ban on the use of essential oils, a formal ban on massaging before the end of the first trimester of pregnancy, a ban on massaging at 36 and 37 weeks. No massage either in case of multiple pregnancy or at risk.
    For a standard pregnancy that can benefit from a relaxation massage, we do not work the area of ​​the sacrum, ankles and malleoli or the fleshy part under the thumb of the hand. These areas are reflex points directly linked to the uterus, which can trigger labor. Overall, the massage of a pregnant woman requires a very specific care, in which I was trained.
    In case of breastfeeding, it is also not recommended to use essential oils.

  • Allergy to one or more essential oils: If you are allergic or have any doubts, don't worry. I use scented oils with scents and not essential oils. I can also use neutral oils like deodorized but organic coconut.
    Do not hesitate to tell me if you have epilepsy, in fact I will use a neutral oil.
